LEGISLATIVE ALERT
From Legislative Director, Landis Aden

PHOENIX BOND ELECTION - 14 MARCH 2006

SUPPORT FOR PROPOSITIONS ONE AND FOUR.

The Arizona State Rifle & Pistol Association Board of Directors has voted to support Propositions 1 and 4. The support for these is because of the ongoing efforts to protect the Ben Avery Shooting Facility.

Contained in the propositions are these of particular importance to BASF.

A Phoenix police precinct facility that would be located to the north of BASF.

Purchase of the Pioneer Living History Museum to the north of BASF.

Money to be available for the city to make major capital improvements and operate the clay target center at BASF. If G&F should agree to it via current RFP, or an intergovernmental agreement.

These items will help ensure the future of BASF, and limit encroachment from the north, just as legislation pushed through a couple years ago, gives protection from the south. More pieces in the puzzle to keep BASF open.

We urge members and gun owners of Phoenix to support these two propositions. This is the first time in memory that a bond issue had direct benefits to gun owners, hunters, and shooters interests.
